Barnyard is an intimate neighborhood restaurant by Chef Jesse Barber, bringing a soulful and rustic menu of small and shared plates, small-production wines and beers to Venice, California.
Like a barnyard should be, the front is casual and tapas-friendly, with padded bench seating, lime green throw pillows, and local art. The back room, with its low ceilings, sofas, and patio lights, feels very comfortable.
Barber prefers his proteins unadorned, the salt-roasted prawns arrive delicately tinged with green olives & fines herbes; the pork chop with polenta, caramelized apples & charred onion is as straightforward as food gets.
I LOVE Barnyard!! The atmosphere is warm & welcoming, the wait staff is on their game & the chef Jesse Barber is so creative, I love the blend of flavors and perfect portion sizes.
